Now all of us are always looking for that bargin, Cheaper goods, and the Internet has provided us with Shop Fronts that can provide these goods at a better price.

But what I hear is - can I trust these Online Merchants, will I get what I pay for and will the goods be delievered.

So I will help you protect yourself against any foul play from the online merchant with a few simple rules to follow.

1. Use Pay Pal or similar secure site to pay the merchant.

This is used more often than not for Ebay and a large number of online merchants are using it aswell. It is safer than just depositing your hard earned cash straight into a merchants bank account.

2. Is the website secure? Does the website owner state that they have a secure website? Has it been Verisign http://www.verisign.com/ 

3. If I have to pay through a cash cart and enter my credit card what should I bee looking for? A new page should load and when it does check out the URL - it should at least start with https://website.com

It is the “https” that is the important part that you are looking for.

How to get paid by Google? How to earn money through Google?In my last article I covered “What are those Google Ads” which you will be able to find on my blog or www.enigmaofthewebrevealed.com But for this article I will be covering “Google AdSense” how you can get paid by Google.I like to call these two products Google’s Ying & Yang, the two sides that work together; you can’t have one without the other.

So let’s get to it, but first I think we should do a brief recap on Adwords, The Ying, it is a system where by a website owner sets up an Adwords account and creates an Ad which they pay to have shown on other peoples websites. This ad will be eligible to appear whenever a user searches Google or its partner sites for the keywords that have been selected. The more you spend on Adwords the higher exposure that you get for your ads.

You know buying online is convient, but that can come at a cost. Generally when you go to a store you hand over your hard earned cash for a product.

But with online purchases you hand over your hard earned cash and have to wait around for days or weeks for your product to turn up, and unfortunately there are some untrustworthy online merchants who don’t provide the service that you have payed for or don’t even deliver your goods.

Over the comming weeks I will arm with the knowledge on how to buy online - from trustworthy websites and reduce the risk of being taken for a ride.

Everyone has seen them, those Google ads that appear on a website, some people put them on their blog or the ones that you have found through a search engine. Well those are paid for ads by the product or website owners.Google has product that enables business/website owners a way of showing advertisements on other people’s websites, it’s called Google Adwords and here is some information on how it all works.An example of how “Google Adwords” works.I am the owner of an online store, and I wish to drive more traffic to my website, so what do I do? I sign up to “Google Adwords”, and basically I will be willing to pay for advertising space on other peoples websites. With Google Adwords I can create my own ads, which means that I will be able to customize the Ad Copy text (wording of the Ad) which is 4 lines and includes the target website address, the colour of the text and a few other features. The help/support facility within Adwords is pretty good and can provide you with some direction.Anyway I pay Google to show my ads on other people’s websites and I can create/attach Keywords to the Ad so I will be able to match my ad to potential customers. So if I am a pet food website my keywords will revolve around pet food, pets etc. The ad will be eligible to appear whenever a user searches Google or its partner sites for the keywords you select. These keywords also are used to target your ad to content sites, where potential customers are reading about topics related to your product or service. How much does it cost? Well it depends on your budget, the higher the budget you have the more times you ad will be shown or the more exposure your ad will be given. Each time someone click’s on your ad you will pay a small portion out of your budget. This is called Cost-Per-Click. You can setup your own limits for this or the Google Optimizer will do it for you. So once again the larger the budget the higher the CPC can be and the more exposure and better position the ad will have.So someone see’s my Ad and thinks I might just check this out and see what’s up, when people click on my ad they are then sent to the URL, that I specified when setting up my Ad. Most of the time it will be a website address where someone is selling some product, but it could be a blog or public service website providing information.

Do people actually make money from this? Yes they sure do! The website where my add was shown when it was clicked on is then payed for that click – this is called Pay Per Click (PPC) and this is because the website owner who’s site my ad appeared on had been signed up to what is known as “Google Adsense”. If you want to make money online, you don’t have to have a website that is hosted?

A blog can act as a similar function, they are free, you can control them and edit them yourself. There are many tutorials that will help you with this.
